LMS Settings

Configure LMS features, branding, gamification, and storage for your institution

Settings affect all courses, users, and features in OptiLearn for your institution. Only admins can change them.

Navigate to Settings → General to open the settings page.

Branding

  • LMS Name — How your learning platform is branded (e.g. "Springdale Academy Learning")
  • Primary Color — Used for buttons, accents, and progress bars
  • Welcome Message — Shown on student dashboards
  • Logo — Upload a logo for the header (coming soon)

Enrollment

  • Self-Enrollment — If on, students can enroll themselves from the catalogue. If off, only admins can enroll students.
  • Require Approval — Enrollments must be approved by an instructor before becoming active.

Gamification Points

Default point values for student actions. Configurable:

ActionDefault Points
Complete a lesson10
Pass a quiz25
Complete a course100

Change these to tune the economy of your leaderboard. For example, if you want to encourage completion over exploration, raise the course completion points to 500.

Storage Limits

  • Max Video Size — Maximum size per video upload (default: 500 MB)
  • Max File Size — Maximum size per general file upload (default: 50 MB)

These are client-side hints; actual upload limits are also enforced server-side for security.

Saving Changes

Click Save Changes at the bottom of the settings page. Changes take effect immediately for all users.

Warning

Disabling a feature doesn't delete data — it just hides the UI. Re-enabling brings everything back exactly as it was.
